Welcome to the 2048 Kgotla/Study Group for my 8th book and first novel, '2048: Sovereignty In the Age of Control - When Big Brother Merges with A.I.'.
2048 breaks down the future we’re already walking into—AI, surveillance, and digital power—and how it will reshape daily life.
More importantly, it offers positive ancestral solutions and sovereignty strategies rooted in wisdom our people have always used to survive and thrive in times of control.
The definition of 'Kgotla' is a term from Tswana, Botswana that refers to a traditional assembly or gathering for discussion and decision-making. Now more than ever are we in need of coming together to speak on where we see ourselves over the next few years into the future.

I. ABOUT THE BOOK:
2048 is a near-future speculative novel set in a world where artificial intelligence has fused with state power to monitor, predict, and quietly govern human behavior. When a young Brooklyn native, Masai Sankara, unexpectedly disrupts a sentient AI known as BB48, he becomes the center of a growing resistance that blends ancestral knowledge, cultural memory, and underground technology to challenge digital domination. As surveillance tightens and alliances stretch from Brooklyn to Kigali, Rwanda, the story explores what sovereignty truly means in an age where freedom is measured in data—and resistance begins with remembering who we are.
This is a read that prepares you for a world being built before our very eyes yet are unable to see where we fit.

II. BOOK CLUB SETUP:
We are starting with a group willing to meet on a weekly basis for 6-7 weeks.
Your moderator will be M’Bwebe Ishangi, author of '2048'. We're looking to cover a few chapters each week with self-paced reading in between via Google Meet. We look to also discuss what practical measures can be taken in real life in preparation.

Each week we will discuss each chapter as a group sharing insights and thoughts to build community in mind and soul.
